VPRF's 2025 Silent Auction Raises Over $5,000 for Research Grants & Fellowships

VPRF is pleased to report that we recently held another successful silent auction fundraising event during the 23rd AAVPT Biennial Symposium at the North Carolina State University College for Veterinary Medicine.

Taking place during the banquet evening, the auction provides a mix of mingling and friendly competition for guests, all for a good cause—raising much-needed funding for our Foundation’s goal of advancing veterinary pharmacology research.

Auction items, many of which were donated by generous members of AAVPT, ranged from the latest electronics, to handcrafted artisan goods, food and drink gifts, animal-themed items, jewelry, musical instruments, gift cards, and much more. Our flagship item was a custom guitar honoring AAVPT designed by none other than the esteemed Dr. Stephen Sundlof who is a former director of the FDA-CVM.

Also during the evening, we honored late board member Dr. Joe S. Gloyd and announced our 2026 grant named in his memory. During the banquet, over $3,000 was raised from attendees to specifically go towards this grant. We are truly beside ourselves with the generosity of the AAVPT membership in honor of Joe.

After the auction closed, our total raised was over $5,000! We’re looking forward to putting this money towards future grants and research fellowships.

Dr. Jane Owens, VPRF President said:

“Our biannual silent auction was once again a big success and it raises awareness of the Foundation and the important work we do to support veterinary pharmacology research and training. Thank you to everyone who generously donated items as well as everyone who bid on and took items home with them. We always look forward to this evening with our AAVPT colleagues at the Biennial!”
